FNpack Main Screen

The FNpack main screen has three major areas. The Channel Monitor panel in the lower portion of the screen (1) displays all traffic on the radio channel. This includes messages intended for you, messages being sent from you to other stations, and messages being exchanged by other stations.

The central portion of the screen is the Received Messages panel (2). Messages addressed to your callsign and to your group name are displayed in this panel. The Received Messages panel allow you to see messages sent to you without being distracted by other traffic. As described later, received messages may be saved to disk and/or printed if desired. An audible alert signal may also be sounded when messages addressed to you are received.

A message counter (4) indicates how many new messages have been received. The counter can be reset by clicking on it.

The upper portion of the main screen (3) contains command buttons that are used to originate and route outgoing messages. Operation of these buttons is described in the help topics shown at the left.

The Connect to Local BBS button provides an interface to the BBS portion of the local TNC. When this button is pressed the Channel Monitor panel of the Main Screen is replaced with a panel that shows information received from, and sent to, the local BBS.
