Printing
The printing items determine whether all received messages are printed, whether no messages are printed, or whether messages are printed only when the originating station requests that a specific message be printed. The print all and no printing selections apply to all received messages. The remote print request selection applies only to messages originated by another station using FNpack software.

Alerting
The audible alerting selections behave similarly to the printing selections.

Forms
The forms listbox shows all formal message templates that are stored in the Forms subdirectory. Any one of the various templates may be selected as the one to be used for composing formal messages. In this way different formal message styles may be used in different situations. Creating Forms describes how to create form templates.

Net Operation
A description of the net operation selections is given in the Net Operation section.

Callsigns
The Operating Callsign should match the callsign entered into the TNC with MYCALL command. It may be an FCC assigned callsign or a tactical callsign. This is the callsign that other stations will use to address messages intended for you.

When FNpack is used with a Kantronics TNC the BBS identification should match the identification entered into the TNC with the MYPbbs (typically this is the same as the MYCALL callsign plus an SSID of -1). Generally the BBS identification should match the Operating Callsign. E.g if the Operating Callsign is tactical callsign AID6 then the BBS identification would be AID6-1.

For MFJ TNCs the Local BBS ID should be set to the word 'SYSOP'.   The MYMCALL entry in the TNC should be set to the operating callsign plus SSID.

An FCC assigned callsign can be entered.   If the 'Add Assgined Callsign to Messages' box is checked then the FCC assigned callsign will be sent periodically following messages. This can be done to satisfy FCC identification requirements when tactical callsigns are being used.

Outgoing Messages
Message number, originating station callsign, time, and date can be automatically inserted into formal messages as they are being composed. Check the autofill checkbox to enable this capability. Also set the message number that should be applied to the next formal message that is originated. This number will then be incremented automatically as formal messages are created.

Save Messages
The save messages options allow received and sent messages to be saved to disk. Saved messages may be viewed by pressing the View Log button on the Main screen.
