TNC Settings

FNpack is configured to work with the factory default settings of most popular TNCs. Other combinations of settings can be used, but there are likely to be some combinations of settings that do not give satisfactory performance.

The following are appropriate TNC settings:

AutoLF ON - causes lines sent to FNpack to be terminated with CR LF.

Baud Rate - 4800 or 9600 baud preferred. The corresponding FNpack opeating parameter should be set to the same rate.

Beacon 0 - beacon is off. Beacon frames are undesirable in emergency situations because the send packets which add to congestion.

Echo ON - characters sent by FNpack are echoed back to FNpack. The corresponding FNpack parameter should be set to full duplex.
