Unproto Useage

Broadcast messages and Net messages are sent using the connectionless unproto packet format. When sending these types of messages FNpack changes the TNC unproto setting to the group address immediately prior to sending a message.

When the FNpack program is terminated it restores the TNC unproto setting to the value that was in use when the FNpack program started. This effectively removes any of the changes that may have been made by Fnpack.

For the original unproto setting to be restored successfully it is important that 1) the TNC be connected and powered when the FNpack program is started, (his allows FNpack to read the initial unproto setting.) and 2) the FNpack program be terminated by selecting the File/Exit menu item on the Main screen. This insures that FNpack can restore the original unproto value.

If FNpack terminates abnormally it may be necessary to manually restore the desired TNC unproto value.
